Myrtle Beach SC
Locals Favorite Restaurants
Without a doubt, Myrtle Beach has a surprising number of restaurants that locals favor over others.
Some of the restaurants have been around for decades, some opened within the last year and became instant favorites due to uniqueness or exceptional quality.
Below are a few of the Myrtle Beach area restaurants that, based on ratings and reviews submitted to
Myrtle Beach SC Restaurants, seem to get the most attention and praise by locals.
Crab Catcher's on the Waterfront
Crab Catcher's is hands-down winner for a locals hangout. A high percentage of patrons are locals at this quaint little establishment located on the Intracoastal Waterway in Little River. This restaurant is NOT for the impatient diner -- you WILL wait for your food. But those that return again and again overlook the wait and enjoy the time spent talking with others on the deck or in the diningroom.
Basil's Pizza
Basil's is quite small, located on Sea Mountain Highway in Cherry Grove, with very little seating and no really comfortable seating. Despite all that, it's received rave reviews from locals and is reportedly the restaurant of choice for lunch by the North Myrtle Beach Lifeguards.
Sea Blue Restaurant
Not in a charming spot, for sure. It's located at the end of an in-the-middle-of-being-renovated shopping plaza on Highway 17 in North Myrtle Beach. Despite outward appearances, this is a true gem for both quality dining and outstanding monthly wine tastings.
Cagney's Old Place
Cagney's has been around for decades, and it has a well-earned reputation as one of the best places for quality steaks and filets on the beach. The staff is courteous and attentive, and the quality of meals is simply outstanding.
